Going forward, Content Writers and Copywriters must work arm in arm to build traffic, create relationships with customers and consumers and ultimately build the brand. So although they have slightly different responsibilities, it’s paramount to include them both when building websites. However, as Copywriters grow to combine strategic writing with great content, they may just have the best of both worlds. As the term Content Writer is still in its infancy, perhaps we’ll continue to see a cross over as it evolves.


Defining your website’s voice and tone helps you create on-brand content. Your website’s voice is like its personality. Think about how you might describe that in a few words, such as “knowledgeable”, or “professional”. That gives an overall idea of how your want your content to sound. The tone of your website’s content may vary depending on the audience. For example, some content might be aimed at beginners, while other content might assume that the audience is more informed.
With the pace of social media and the frequency of blogging, not to mention that many of your content assets will be used across multiple campaigns and teams, a lightweight project management tool is critical. I recommend using a free software called Trello, which helps you organize your content, set deadlines, attach files, and collaborate with multiple teammates. Another great tool for keeping content projects organized from planning to publishing is Zerys -- a content marketing tool with a built-in marketplace of professional writers.

For example, a landing page should probably contain copy that is short and designed to persuade the reader to take action. In contrast, a white paper will likely work best with more details to explain a more complex issue.

But for your blog readers to view and share them, they must be of high quality and show how to achieve a goal by following simple steps. One of the tools suitable for this purpose is Camtasia. It allows recording only those parts of a screen you choose. After recording, Camtasia divides audio, video, and microphone into separate editable tracks. To focus viewers’ attention on the most important things, you can apply special effects such as arrows, text boxes, and highlights. You can distribute the video further via your preferred channel such as YouTube or Vimeo.
Tip #6 – Another tip from John Carlton… make sure you have some “thanks, but no thanks” money in your bank account. When you need the money, you’ll find yourself agreeing to all kinds of terms that you don’t like in order to get a gig. It’s okay, just go through this period as fast as possible and SAVE YOUR MONEY so you don’t have to keep doing that. Clients will bend their “non-negotiable terms” to your preferences, but only if you’re actually good and can deliver results. When you are good, you are not replaceable. Hiring a copywriter is not like buying silver or gold or something else where all is equal. All copywriters are not equal. Decent copywriters make decent sales copy. Really good copywriters make their clients a big return on their investment. Your clients don’t want good copy, they want to make a profit.
I think that award applications, press releases and speeches is something that’s become common for a content executive as content is seen as a broad skill and so can be applied to many areas of writing. Though if this is something you’re not comfortable with, then perhaps raise it with your line manager or look at ways to improve on these development areas.
If all sentences in one paragraph are approved, look at the structure within a paragraph, focusing on that first sentence. Does that first core sentence really capture the thing you wanted to say in that specific paragraph? Are the sentences within a paragraph presented in a logical order? Do you use transition words in order to make the connection between sentences clear?

SEO copywriting is all about creating useful, compelling and valuable content that targets specific keywords so that other people will gladly promote it on social media platforms. This increases the authority and relevance of your content and improves its ranking in Google for the selected keywords. So when you highly recommend something, Google sees it relevant and you will achieve greater SEO content results.
Tip #9 – Cultivate discipline as a daily practice. If you rely solely on passion and motivation, you’re screwed. You need to have the thick skin of a professional and be able to get things done even when you don’t want to or don’t feel like it. Read the book: The War Of Art by Steven Pressfield. It’s a quick read, but it will give you a framework on how to think about getting your work done.

For example, when a brand pays out millions of dollars for a Super Bowl ad, they are renting the attention that the TV networks have built. Before starting the actual keyword research, you should think about your mission statement. This is what makes you stand out from the crowd. While formulating your mission statement, you should consider questions like: who are you and what is your blog about? What makes it unique? It can help, but other degrees also have content writing value. For instance, the ability to synthesize and relate complex information is key to content writing, but can also be acquired from studies in education or philosophy. Companies that offer content writing positions tend to find it easier to train someone in a complex topic than to train someone to write, however. For example, as a healthcare professional with mediocre writing skills, you're less likely to be hired as a healthcare content writer than a strong writer with no healthcare background (but who can be trained in healthcare topics).
