Through the first few paragraphs, I was getting the impression that a content writer adapted the copywriting to create content assets for channels. Through the second half, I got the exact opposite impression, that the content writer works with the strategist to create the communication plan, then the copywriter executes on it.


Call to actions are something I struggle with, not just placement but adding them in general! I’m probably guilty of thinking that someone is already on the page, they must be interested, but you’re right in that it’s a constant battle to keep people’s attention and to get them to do what you want them to do (and what they are on the site to do!). Someone told me once that you should add a CTA every 100 words, if in an article or website page. What do you think about that?

Publish your own, and even if people don’t read it you can still use it as a form of content marketing every time you’re introduced as “Author of…”
